Antoine Griezmann will have a very familiar teammate next season, all because of Football Manager, after Barcelona signed Braga youngster Trincao for the 2020/21 season.

On Friday the La Liga champions confirmed the signing of two youngsters to join this summer with forward Trincao joining from Portugal for £26 million.

The 20-year-old won't be well known to most, having only played 17 times for Braga's first team in the league so far in his career, but future teammate Griezmann certainly knows him.

Earlier this season the French forward posted the Arsenal team from his Football Manager save in the year 2023 and along with a whole host of future stars is Trincao, playing on the right wing.

Griezmann hasn't signed himself for the Gunners but fellow Barca player Frenkie de Jong is in the side with Trincao so maybe Quique Setién will be seeking advice on how to get the best out of the pair from his forward.

The former Atleti man will be like a really proud dad with the Braga man not the only member of his FM side to sign for a new club on Friday.

On transfer deadline day Alexis Saelemaekers moved on loan from Anderlecht to AC Milan with the Serie A sleeping giants also having the option to sign the player permanently in the summer.

Barcelona obviously think highly of Trincao, as well as splashing the cash on him after minimal appearances, and just two goals and two assists, they've also added a €500 million transfer release clause to his five year deal.

The Catalan giants also announced the signing of 21-year-old Brazilian midfielder Matheus Fernandes from Palmeiras for an initial £5.8 million for the summer.

The club spent the last two weeks of the January transfer window trying to sign a forward after Luis Suarez picked up an injury.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Lautaro Martinez were amongst the players linked but the Spanish side weren't able to splash the kind of big cash that would have been needed to sign the players.
