Mario Balotelli's relationship with Brescia is likely to have taken another hit, with the club changing the forward's weight on their site to show him to be well overweight.

Things haven't been going well for Balotelli at all this season and a move to Brescia has completely backfired for both the player and the club.

His latest issues come with the club outing him as being around a stone overweight at the moment by changing his weight on the official website to 99.8kg, roughly 8kg more than he should be weighing.

The incident comes nearly exactly a month after the previous embarrassment for the striker at Serie A's second bottom placed side, after he was refused entry to training.

Balotelli had been ill with gastroenteritis and missed several days of training. He was then given the all clear by doctors to return and emailed the club with documentation saying he was well.

However the 29-year-old's emails came out of working hours and no one was at the club to process his medical forms so when he arrived at training the next morning he was turned away.

The former Inter striker's agent, Mino Raiola, recently hit out the club, claiming that they had not tested his client for Coronavirus during the pandemic.

That claim didn't go down well with club owner Massimo Cellino, with the former Leeds United owner threatening legal recourse. A statement from the club read, "It is important to underline that, apparently, this extended inspection will happen following the false and slanderous accusations of irresponsible people, published this morning in the media.

"On this specific issue, we have instructed our lawyers to take action against those who made these false accusations.

"Brescia wish to clarify that we respected the medical protocol to the letter and even privately hired a full-time specialist (at real expense) to deal with any possible health emergencies linked to COVID-19.

"Being accused of not respecting the rules, by one of our players no less, is shameful slander and those who said it will pay (both in economic and image terms) in the opportune venues, so we can protect the work and sacrifices of this club."

On top of those issues, and the club trying to sack him last month, the team are facing almost certain relegation and are seven points from safety with seven games left.

The 29-year-old was also racially abused by opposition fans earlier in the season with the ultras supporting his own team backing the vile abuse and Cellino later making a racist 'joke' about Balotelli needing to 'clear' himself.
