The transfer window is becoming an increasingly expensive time period for clubs looking to bring in top talent.

When it comes to the most expensive players of all time, only three names featured in the top 50 list were signed by their clubs before 2010.

However, the actual world transfer record itself hasn’t been broken since 2017. The British transfer record, meanwhile, has been smashed multiple times since then.

In the current footballing climate, it isn’t uncommon to see £100 million plus fees paid for players each season, with those deals having a knock-on effect when it comes to attempting to sign players not valued as highly.

It will come as no surprise that the Premier League is involved in most of the highest valued deals, whether that be incoming or outgoing.

And in this SPORTbible quiz, we’re challenging you to identify the top 20 most expensive signings in football history. We need surnames only for this one, and there are clues provided to help you out should you need them.
