Reports from Germany suggest that Manchester United are lining up a January bid for Thomas Muller as they seek to save their season with the help of the out-of-favour Bayern Munich star.
The German striker is considered a legend at the Allianz Arena but is reportedly looking for a new challenge after losing his spot in the starting line-up and managing just three starts in the Bundesliga this season.

The 30 year-old striker certainly has the pedigree that United are looking for- he has over 100 international caps for Germany and over 400 appearances for Bayern, notching up over 168 goals and an impressive number of assists for the club over the past 9 seasons.
It is claimed that United have made enquiries about Muller's availability this winter transfer window as they desperately look to bolster their front line after failing to replace Romelu Lukaka and Alexis Sanchez this summer.

But United face fierce competition for his signature from Inter Milan, as the San Siro club look to replace striker Lautaro Martinez who has been linked with a move to Barcelona.
United have also expressed interest in signing Mario Mandzukic, who is said to be available in January for around £10m.
However, Manchester United are said to have held a long-standing interest in signing Muller dating back to Louis Van Gaal's time in charge of the club, and believe that now is the right time to re-ignite their interest in the Bavarian.
