Fans have been left baffled after the full list of nominees for the 2023 Yachine Trophy was announced.

The Yachine Trophy is an award by France Football which is presented to the best-performing goalkeeper of the year.

Previous winners include Alisson Becker, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Thibault Courtois.

For the 2023 award, the nominees are Ederson, Brice Samba, Yassine Bounou, Andre Onana, Mike Maignan, Emiliano Martinez, Thibault Courtois, Aaron Ramsdale, Dominik Livakovic and Marc Andre Ter Stegen.

Fans have been left baffled by the fact that Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has been overlooked.

One said: “Where the hell is Alisson? This is genuinely a disgrace even as a rival fan lmao.”

Another tweeted: “Not even baiting when I say that Alisson Becker is better than every single goalkeeper on this list.”

A third fan added: “These trophies are so stupid. None are better than Alisson.”

Someone else wrote: “Alisson isn’t there, is this a joke?”

Whilst a fifth commented: “No Alisson? What? Are these guys playing FIFA and nominating players?”

Another fan said: “Honestly, is this a joke? How on earth is Alisson Becker not included on that list? He is by far, the best goalkeeper in world football.”

Alisson won the trophy in 2019 after playing a big part in Liverpool’s Champions League triumph.

The Brazilian made several crucial saves during a tense final against Tottenham Hotspur, which Liverpool eventually won 2-0 thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.

Alisson was also instrumental as Liverpool won their first-ever Premier League title a year after their Champions League win.

Since then, the Brazil number one has been one of Liverpool’s most important players, often saving the team when he was needed most.

During what was a difficult 22/23 season, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp praised Alisson.

He said: “He is for sure the most consistent player we have this season.

“That's actually not bad news, it's good news, because if we are not in a great shape and the level of the goalie drops as well then we would have been completely lost.”
