The top 10 most valuable free agents include three former Manchester United stars and a Real Madrid legend.

The summer transfer window is in full flow with plenty of deals already completed in the Premier League after the Profit and Sustainability deadline caused a transfer frenzy at the end of June.

Millions of pounds have been spent already and there is more spending forecasted, particularly after both Euro 2024 and the Copa America have concluded.

For clubs looking to save some money, there are plenty of big-name free agents who can be signed for absolutely no transfer fee this summer, some of which are currently playing at the summer’s two showpiece tournaments.

The current most valuable free agent is France international Adrien Rabiot who is valued at €35m by Transfermarkt. Rabiot has left Juventus after failing to agree a new contract but the Serie A giants are reportedly still confident they can tie him down to new terms.

Plenty of Premier League sides such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa have all been linked with a move for the midfielder who featured in 35 matches in all competitions last season.

Coming in second on the list is former Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermoso who is one of three players to depart the club upon the expiration of their contracts.

He joins ex-Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista and current Netherlands international Memphis Depay on the released list and are all available to sign for free.

Defensive midfielder Guido Rodriguez, formerly of Real Betis, and Raphael Varane are both valued at €20m and are searching for a new club. The former Manchester United defender is believed to be in talks to join Italian side Como where Cesc Fabregas is the assistant manager.

The youngest player on the list is Leandro Barreiro, 24, who left Mainz at the end of the season. Despite being linked with Everton, it has been widely reported that he will sign with Benfica.

Ex-Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho is searching for a new club after making over 200 appearances for the Foxes and helping them earn promotion back to the Premier League. He has been linked with Aston Villa.

Legendary midfielder Thiago Alcantara is also available to sign on a free after departing Liverpool alongside Jurgen Klopp. The Spaniard played just five minutes of football last season but has put his injury troubles behind him as he looks to continue his playing career.
