An extremely awkward moment involving Plymouth manager Tom Cleverley is going viral after the club's media channel Argyle TV appeared to accidentally broadcast a particularly tense encounter following their most recent defeat.

It has been a tricky start to the League One campaign for recently-relegated Plymouth, who have yet to pick up a single point from their opening four league games against Barnsley, Bolton, Lincoln and Leyton Orient.

In fact, after suffering a 1-0 home defeat against Richie Wellens' Orient on Tuesday night, a section of supporters booed off their own players at the full-time whistle – something manager Tom Cleverley addressed in his post-match interview.

“They pay their money, they can voice their frustrations," he said. "I have been there as a young player where it really can turn, and it’s hostile. It’s not easy to perform under those circumstances."

Cleverley would later make his way to the Argyle TV studio to take part in his media duties, but it was an awkward start to proceedings as those behind the scenes struggled to get to grips with the camera set-up.

As you can see from the clip below, Cleverley can be seen becoming more and more frustrated by the unfolding events, and after almost 90 seconds of waiting around, the former Manchester United midfielder walked off set.

X user @joshhaynesPAFC posted footage from the broadcast, which has since received almost one million views.

"I’ve just been sent this by a mate. And I’m not going to lie, it completely epitomises everything that’s wrong with the club," he wrote. "Unprofessional and amateur. Look at Clevs face, the blokes obviously done. He’s seen enough of this shitshow, I’m putting money on him walking."

Here's how some fans on social media reacted to the scenes.

One wrote: "Feel for Clevs, Looks like he has walked into a spin-off series of the office which takes place in a football club," and another commented: "We are the laughing stock of English football. Absolutely embarrassing from top to bottom."

A third said: "Sums this club up nicely. Absolute shambles behind the scenes and cleverly waiting for things to happen. Bin it all off and start again," and a fourth added: "This looks like a parody, but actually isn't."

Tom Cleverley reacts to Plymouth's performance against Leyton Orient

Plymouth's defeat to Leyton Orient comes just days after they fell to a 3-2 defeat against Lincoln City. Cleverley, however, was optimistic about their most recent display at Home Park.

“You will probably tell by my body language that I’m not as burning angry as I was on Saturday," he said. "I saw a group of guys who were focused, organised, and were trying their best. We just fell short, and that’s where we are at the minute.

“The Lincoln and Barnsley performances were similar in terms of we offered attacking threat, but we conceded three soft goals, and the Bolton and Leyton Orient performances were similar in terms of we looked a bit more solid and in control, but that final part we were just off it tonight."

He added: "Putting the two aspects of all those four performances together is what we are striving for.”
