San Marino have won their first game in over 20 years following their dramatic victory over Liechtenstein on Thursday.

19-year-old Nicko Sensoli, who plays his club football in Serie D, scored the only goal of the UEFA Nations League clash.

He pounced on some slack defending to prod home in the 53rd minute.

His goal sparked wild scenes as the whole team, including the substitutes, celebrated on the pitch in a brilliant moment for the European minnows.

Similar scenes unfolded after the final whistle as the team celebrated their incredible triumph.

Their winless streak is finally over and they've also secured their first win in a competitive match.

This is only San Marino's second-ever win as a footballing nation.

And it's their first victory since April 2004 when they beat tonight's opponents Liechtenstein.

Last year, San Marino gave Denmark a scare in their 2-1 defeat. They scored a shock goal against the Danes before losing their World Cup qualifier.

And, in the same campaign, England smashed them 10-0, with Harry Kane scoring four goals.

San Marino return to action next Tuesday against Moldova.
