Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham is now the world’s most valuable player, according to the CIES Football Observatory.

Bellingham has enjoyed a stellar first half-season at Real Madrid.

The 20-year-old midfielder has netted 17 strikes in 21 appearances in all competitions, including a league-high 13 La Liga goals, since his £113million summer switch from Borussia Dortmund.

Indeed, the England international has already broken Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for the most goals scored in a player’s first 15 games at Los Blancos.

And according to the CIES Football Observatory statistical model, Bellingham is now the most valuable player in the world, with his price having soared in the past few months.

Bellingham is worth €267.5million (£230million) while his former Borussia Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland, currently of Manchester City, is the second most valuable player in the world at €251.2million (£216.73million).

Real’s Brazilian duo Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo are the third and fourth most valuable players in the world, worth €250.3million (£215.96million) and €247.9million (£213.89million) respectively.

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka rounds off the top five, with CIES Football Observatory valuing the England star at €223.0million (£192million).

Saka’s England team-mate Phil Foden is the sixth most valuable player in the world, worth €195.8million (£170million)

Barcelona’s teenage sensation Gavi at €175.4million (£151.3million) and City’s Julián Álvarez at €164.7million (£142.10million) are seventh and eighth on the list.

Jamal Musiala is the Bundesliga’s most valuable player and the world’s ninth at €152.4million (£131.49million).

Martin Odegaard rounds off the top 10 at €150.6million (£129.94million).

Compared to the estimates published last June, the number of players with a transfer value in excess of €100million (£86.28million) has almost doubled from 20 to 39.

That reflects the sharp inflation in player prices that occurred during the summer transfer window.
