Paul Pogba may well have given one of the best ever answers to the age-old question about Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi and Ronaldo have been the two titans of football for nearly two decades, with 13 Ballon d'Ors to their name in an utterly dominant period where they have truly changed the face of football.

The debate as to who is better is a never-ending one and over the years, a whole host of players and managers have given their view. Opinions are typically split given there are arguments for both being seen as the GOAT and on Tuesday it was time for former Manchester United star Pogba to weigh in.

Pogba, who is currently serving a suspension from a doping ban and set to return in March, appeared on a stream with content creator IShowSpeed.

Speed asked the Juventus and France midfielder to pick between Messi and Ronaldo. Pogba played with Ronaldo during his second spell back at United but gave a mature response - explaining that while the Portuguese superstar gives guaranteed goals, Messi, as a playmaker, brings more to the table.

"For me, there is no Ronaldo vs Messi. If I have to make a team, if I need to score goals, I will take Cristiano," he stated.

"Really, only to score goals. But if I need a playmaker who can score goals and make assists, I'll take Messi. Everyday."

As a Ronaldo superfan, Speed was not in agreement with Pogba's comment. But the 31-year-old didn't back down and continued to wax lyrical about the Argentina legend.

He continued: "You like Cristiano, I love the style and everything. Some people love Messi, because do you see what he's doing?

"Messi is different. Have you ever seen Messi? He's like that, right [short]? But you think you can push him and stuff like that. How can a person like this - so small - do this to people?"
