One Netherlands player was slammed after Ronald Koeman’s me were defeated by Austria.
On Tuesday evening, the Netherlands produced a below-par performance as Ralf Rangnick’s men came away 3-2 winners.
Goals from Romano Schmid and Marcel Sabitzer plus an own goal by Donyell Malen were enough to secure Austria’s victory.
Liverpool star Cody Gakpo and Atletico Madrid’s Memphis Depay were the scorers for the Netherlands.

As a result, Austria headed into the round of 16 as the winners of Group D as France were held to a 1-1 draw by Poland.
The Netherlands meanwhile, could be set to face England in the next round.
After the match, Netherlands and Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk was heavily criticised.
Former Dutch player Rafael Van der Vaart said: “We played the way Virgil van Dijk just talked! We just had to watch a disgraceful performance! I want the captain from our country to show some PASSION!”
On social media, one fan said: “We were there for that Virgil Van Dijk stinker. He cost the Netherlands that game.”
Another tweeted: “WHAT IS VAN DIJK DOING??????This brother is so washed and overrated.”
A third fan added: “That 3rd goal is on Van Dijk at the end for playing pretty far back from the rest of the line.”
Someone else wrote: “Virgil van Dijk, went missing when his country needed him most. Awful performance, not my captain.”
A fifth commented: “What was Virgil Van Dijk trying to do playing offside trap when the action was already behind him.”
Speaking after the match, Van Dijk said: “Very bad game. Very bad night. We started the game weak. I don't have an explanation for this performance.”
