Marc Cucurella appeared to aim a dig at Manchester City striker Erling Haaland during Spain’s Euro 2024 celebrations.

La Roja won the Euros for the fourth time on Sunday night after goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal sealed a 2-1 victory.

For England, the agonising wait for a first major trophy since 1966 goes on after tasting defeat in back-to-back Euro finals.

In the video, the Spaniard was heard saying: “Cucurella eats a paella, Cucurella drinks Estrella, Haaland trembles that Cucurella is coming”

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Cucurella with that pre-match paella fueling his game and the confidence to shut down Haaland!”

Another tweeted: “It is all over for Haaland in the league.”

A third fan added: “Why is Haaland catching strays?”

Someone else wrote: “CUCURELLA IS THE BEST.”

A fifth commented: “You can’t hate this man.”

Speaking after the match, Spain boss Luis de la Fuente said: “They are tireless. They will keep improving, competing, trying to win and they all need to feel proud.

“I said it at the beginning and I'll just keep saying it now: they make my life and my work much easier.”

He added: “I’m really happy about my country, about Spain, about the excitement we have created and I hope everybody feels as proud about this generation of players who can make history and have a long future ahead of them.

“All I wanted was for my players to believe in me and to be convinced of what I told them, not only me, but also the whole technical staff. I feel proud. We have earned this. Nobody gave us anything for free. The harder things are to get, the more valuable they are.”
