TNT Sports host Jules Breach agreed with Karen Carney's damning assessment of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Manchester United comments ahead of their game against Real Sociedad.

Breach was joined by Carney and Paul Scholes on TNT Sports for its coverage of Man United's Europa League tie against Sociedad on Thursday.

Before kick-off, Carney and Scholes shared their views on Man United's plans to build a new stadium following Ratcliffe's announcement.

Ratcliffe had spoke to the BBC and Gary Neville, where the businessman revealed the true state of the club's finances, prior to unveiling his proposed plans.

He admitted that his main focus remains on the men's team as he referenced the women's team.

"My main focus is on the men's team because that is what moves the needle at Manchester United," he told the BBC.

"The women's team is much smaller that the men's team. Out of our £650million of income, £640m comes from the men's team, £10m comes from the women's team.

"With my business background you tend to focus on the bigger issues before you focus on the smaller issues."

Carney expressed her disappointment as she took exception to Ratcliffe's comments about Man United's women's team.

"No one expects Man United not to be focused on the men's team, but it is disappointing and honestly surprising that a club with such a history of being forward thinking and world-leading not to be investing in one of the fastest growing areas of sport," she explained.

"So for me it's disappointing and when you look at Man United, I thought that's what it stood for I thought they wanted to be best in class leaders in their field.

"For me it's sad and I'm disappointed and I hope that changes I hope it changes his thought process on that well said all right back to the task."

After Carney made her feelings clear, Breach replied: "Well said."

Scholes, meanwhile, weighed in on Ratcliffe's plans to build the biggest stadium in the UK, which could cost £2 billion.

"I was quite excited about it. Obviously, this stadium holds many memories for me. But, look, I've played in some of the greatest stadiums in the world," he said.

"You think of the Bernabéu, the Nou Camps, the San Siros, great history. And this place has got that type of history for me as well. But I think it's about time that Man United caught up, stadium-wise.

"As much as this will be sad to say goodbye to, I think the time is right to move to a new, better, bigger, brilliant stadium that this one looks like it's going to be."
