Scott McTominay was visibly blown away by the to spine-tingling reaction to his injury-time brace at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Red Devils have a new hero in the shape of McTominay, who took the game by the scruff of the neck, scoring a dramatic stoppage time brace to secure a 2-1 victory against Brentford.

The Scotland international was introduced to the action in the 87th minute in what will now seen as an inspired substitution by Erik ten Hag.

After Diogo Dalot's strike was parried by goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha, the rebound fell to McTominay, who controlled the ball before finding the bottom corner in the 93rd minute.

The 26-year-old then arrived on queue, leaping highest in a congested six-yard box to win it for United, sending Old Trafford into pure pandemonium.

And after the full-time whistle, a visibly delighted McTominay was filmed absorbing the atmosphere, shouting at the camera: "You can't buy that! Wow! Woo!"

Fans were loving McTominay's passionate response to the atmosphere, with one tweeting: "He knows what that football club is all about."

"Love this guy so much," another added.

"One of my favourite players since the Ole era," another chimed in.

McTominay's 97th minute winner means United climb to ninth place in the Premier League table, and eases some of the pressure on manager Ten Hag.

Speaking after dramatic victory, McTominay said: "I been brought up at this club ever since I was 5 years old. I know the feeling of never being allowed to give up better than anyone.

"When you are not doing well at this football club, everyone is against you. It feels like we are in our own bubble with the rest of the world saying negative things."
