Ruben Amorim's Manchester United press conference typified the current predicament of the club after United were beaten 3-0 at home to Bournemouth.

Bournemouth beat United by the same scoreline for the second consecutive season, with Dean Huijsen putting the Cherries ahead in the first half before Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo bagged in the second.

United have now lost seven times in the Premier League this season and even with a recent derby win over Manchester City, the team are still not showing signs of improvement under Amorim.

The Red Devils are guaranteed to be in the bottom half of the table for Christmas and events in Amorim's post-match presser sum up the state of the club.

The Portuguese manager spoke to the media after a second successive defeat but the conference was held up as there was a leak in the ceiling.

Journalist Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News shared footage of water dripping from the roof.

Meanwhile, the BBC's Simon Stone explained he had to change seats to avoid the water dripping.

He wrote: "Leak from ceiling of media conference room during Ruben Amorim’s press conference. Water dripped down on front row of journos. I had to switch seats."

United have had similar issues with the Old Trafford roof whenever there has been heavy rainfall, leading to chants of 'Old Trafford is falling down' from opposition supporters.

It is one of many problems Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are facing after becoming shareholders and taking control of operations at the 13-time Premier League winners.

13th in the Premier League after 17 games, United were booed off by their own supporters on Sunday.

Speaking after the game, Amorim discussed the mentality of his players and made the surprise admission that he felt they displayed nerves during the defeat.

"This game was hard on us," Amorim said, as per the Daily Express.

"We suffered again on set-pieces and we were a bit nervous, I felt it in the stadium. The penalty and another goal are really hard here. We tried to score some goals but it was a tough match, so let's move on.

"If you look at the game, we were not conceding anything before the first goal, we had opportunities. If we manage to score the first goal then the game should be different. We want to score but we are too nervous. We have to fight this.

"After the penalty, we need to control the game better because we know this situation is really hard."

United return to action on Boxing Day when they travel to Molineux to play a Wolves side who beat Leicester City 3-0 in Vitor Pereira's first game in charge.
