Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has admitted one player in his squad must improve a key facet of his game.

United earned a first win under their new boss on Thursday by seeing off Bodo/Glimt 3-2 in the UEFA Europa League at Old Trafford.

Mason Mount, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte all impressed with the victory lifting Amorim's side up to 12th in the table with three matches still to play in the league phase.

But having admitted plenty of work still needs to be done in order to help United get back to their best, the former Sporting coach admitted one star must do better in a particular area of the game.

“He has to improve more," the 39-year-old said when discussing two-goal Rasmus Hojlund's performance. "He takes too many touches when he holds the ball.

"He connected in transitions very well. He was aggressive in the box for the goals. He is a quality player.”

Hojlund was involved in all three goals as Amorim's side just about edged the Norwegian minnows having trailed 2-1 after taking an early lead before completing the comeback.

The Dane hurried goalkeeper Nikita Khaikin into making a mistake after just 60 seconds, with Alejandro Garnacho on hand to tap home into an open net.

United's No.9 then scored twice with his first a well-taken just before the half-time whistle sounded.

Amorim will have been most pleased with his side's third of the game, with Mount and Ugarte combining superbly to tee up Hojlund to tap home, despite some suspicions of offside.

“I think it was a bit of a bad start," Hojlund told TNT Sports after the match.

"We showed character, but we want to make sure these games don’t get too exciting. But obviously it is about the three points.

“He (Amorim) told me today not to think too much about the guys behind me, just try and go for what I can see in front of me. We saw that on the first goal.

“Obviously it is going to take time, but you could see today the patterns are getting pressure.

"Now it is for us to build on it. This system reminds me a bit of how I played in Atalanta. I think it suits me well.”

Amorim's next task is Sunday's clash with Everton as he looks for a first win in the Premier League following a 1-1 draw at Ipswich in his opening league fixture.
