Raphael Varane has been tipped to make a shock move in the summer as it has been confirmed the Frenchman would be leaving Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of the season.

It was confirmed on Tuesday that the World Cup winner would be leaving the club after three seasons, which has seen him win the Carabao Cup in 2023.

A club statement confirmed Varane's exit.

It read: "Raphael Varane has confirmed he will leave Manchester United in the summer, upon the expiry of his contract, following three seasons at Old Trafford.

"Everybody at United thanks Rapha for his service and wishes him well for the future."

The Frenchman also released a message to United fans via social media following the initial announcement.

"I fell in love with the club and the fans. You have to play for Man United to understand what that represents," Varane said.

"I’ll see you all at Old Trafford to say goodbye for the last game at home this season.

"It’s going to be a very emotional day for me," He concluded.

United will face Newcastle United on Wednesday in their last home match of the season before heading to Brighton on the final day.

With Varane's future now up in the air there is likely to be rumours linking him to various clubs and different leagues, however, if El Guardián are to be believed Varane's next move could shock the world.

Reports from Mexico have linked Varane with Tigres, with journalist David Medrano sparking the rumour by disclosing that the Mexican club will be signing a European center-back of French nationality.

The report confirmed that it 'is a fact' that Tigres are attempting to attract Varane as he prepares to leave Manchester United and with the 31-year-old leaving for free a deal could be a possibility.
