Man Utd fans spot shock name as club confirm 25-man squad list for Premier League season

Manchester United fans have spotted a shock name in their squad for the 24/25 Premier League season.

With the summer transfer window long over, clubs have been confirming their squad lists for the campaign this week.

United were busy in the summer after bringing in the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee.

The Old Trafford club also brought in teenager Sekou Kone, who has been included in their Premier League squad.

A statement by the club read: “Manchester United have submitted our official squad list to the Premier League.

“The paperwork was required following the completion of the transfer window and in advance of the return to domestic action, with Erik ten Hag's men taking on Southampton at St Mary's on Saturday.”

It continued: “New senior signings Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee are all included but the list is divided into two sections - players aged over 21 and below that same age.

“Recent teenage acquisition Sekou Kone is one of the young players registered and is alongside the likes of Yoro, Kobbie Mainoo, Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho in the second segment.”
