Piers Morgan has furiously hit out at Manchester United and Erik ten Hag after the club banned four media outlets from the manager's press conference.

Man United lost their sixth game of their Premier League campaign as they suffered a crushing 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United last Saturday.

The defeat leaves them in seventh place, with 24 points on the board and five points adrift of fourth-placed Aston Villa.

There were damning reports of dressing room unrest in wake of the defeat at St. James' Park.

It was claimed that Man United players questioned four of Ten Hag's signings and the treatment of Jadon Sancho, who has not played for the club since being banished from the first-team.

After the stories were published, The Manchester Evening News, ESPN, the Mirror and Sky Sports were all barred from Tuesday's press conference.

Man United's decision to ban the four media outlets didn't sit well with Morgan, who slammed the Old Trafford outfit as well as the Dutch boss.

The Arsenal supporter also referenced Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming everything he said during their explosive interview has been 'proven correct'.

Morgan tweeted: "REMINDER: Everything ⁦@Cristiano told me a year ago about Manchester United and Erik Ten Hag has been proven correct."

In another tweet, he name-dropped Sir Alex Ferguson, writing: "Pathetic. You can pull this stunt when you’re the greatest manager of all time like Sir Alex, but to do it when you’re as bad as Ten Hag and the journalists are accurately reporting how bad you are, is laughable."

The 58-year-old then pleaded with other journalists to boycott the press conference: "WTF? I hope every other journalist now boycotts this press conference in solidarity with their colleagues. And yes, I’d say exactly the same if Arsenal behaved like this."

The Red Devils resume their league campaign on Wednesday when they host Chelsea.
