Popular football influencer Mark Goldbridge has demanded Manchester United players walk off the pitch after a controversial moment in the match against Arsenal.

On Sunday afternoon, United travelled to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal for a thrilling match in the third round of the FA Cup.

After a largely quiet first half, United captain Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring, before Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes equalised for the hosts, taking the match to extra-time.

But one moment in the match led to outrage online, causing popular United fan Goldbridge to demand that the visitors walk off the pitch in protest.

Shortly after the hour mark, United defender Diogo Dalot was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for a harsh tackle on Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino, missing the ball and instead catching the ankle of his opponent.

Just two minutes later,Gabriel capitalised on a poor clearance from United keeper Altay Bayindir and equalised the score, leading to outrage from Goldbridge online.

Posting on social media platform X, Goldbridge wrote: "United should walk off the pitch. Never seen a game so badly officiated. Disgusting."

Before reiterating: "Walk off the pitch! This ref needs locking up"

It wasn't the first time that Goldbridge found issue with referee Andrew Madley, as earlier the game he called out an inconsistency regarding fouls on goalkeepers.

"HILARIOUS! Arsenal foul keepers all the time and never a foul given. We don't even touch the keeper and it's a foul," Goldbridge added.

After the full-time whistle was blown, Goldbridge shared the sentiment of many United fans on social media that their side had done well to take the match to extra-time given the fact that they were a man down for much of the second half.

Should the scoreline stay as it is by the end of two extra halves of 15 minutes each, then the winner of the match will be decided by a penalty shoot out.

Immediately after the match, the draw for the next round of the FA Cup will take place, with the fourth round set to be played in early February.
