Man Utd monitoring three more Bayern Munich players in outrageous transfer plan

Manchester United are reportedly interested in three Bayern Munich stars - they already recruited two players from the Germans last summer.

Manchester United are said to be interested in three Bayern Munich players.

United completed deals with the Germans during the summer transfer window. After leaving the Bundesliga giants, Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt joined Erik ten Hag’s side.

However, neither recruit has hit the ground running, with United currently sitting in 14th place in the Premier League amid a five-game winless run.

De Ligt was even dropped from United’s starting XI for the 0-0 draw at Aston Villa on October 6th.

Despite spending nearly £180m in the last transfer window, the Red Devils may look to recruit further in January and in the summer of 2025.

One of United’s main issues currently is the lack of goal threat. Summer signing Joshua Zirkzee – who also used to play for Bayern – has scored just once since arriving from Bologna last summer.

Fellow forward Rasmus Hojlund is also yet to find the net in the Premier League so far this season.

It is clear that United need an injection of creativity and attacking threat if they are to achieve success in this campaign.

Reports from Sky Germany suggest United are monitoring three Bayern players, with the Red Devils are thought to be interested in Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sane and Alphonso Davies.

The article explains how the Premier League outfit would prefer to sign Davies on a free transfer as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Real Madrid have also shown interest in the left-back.

As for Sane, the former Manchester City man has fallen out of favour with new manager Vincent Kompany. The Belgian has opted for Serge Gnabry and new signing Michael Olise on the flank in most games this season. Sane has featured just four times in all competitions this term.

The 28-year-old was part of Germany’s Euro 2024 squad, and it was reported that he would open talks regarding a new contract following the conclusion of the tournament in July 2024.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund all but confirmed that the club wanted to extend Sane’s contract last year: “We will certainly hold talks in the coming weeks,” he explained.

“He is an extremely good player, a key player, and it would be good if he stayed in Munich for a long time."

However, there is nothing to suggest progress has been made. Sane’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Goretzka has also cut a frustrated figure since Kompany’s arrival in Bavaria. The 29-year-old midfielder has featured just three times this campaign and may look to move on. His contract is set to run until the end of 2025/26 season.

It is still unclear if any formal enquiries have been made by United.
