Manchester United fans are suddenly optimistic Rasmus Hojlund will score his first Premier League goal against Everton.

Hojlund has scored five goals in this season's Champions League but has yet to open his Premier League account following his £72 million summer move.

He scored a brace in his side's 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen earlier this month as he looks for his first league goal for Man United.

And ahead of the Red Devils resuming their league campaign on Saturday, Man United fans are convinced the budding Dane will break his duck against Everton.

That's because Luke Shaw has returned to training after three months out with a muscle injury.

The 28-year-old has managed just two league games this campaign before being struck with an injury.

But he could return to the starting XI for his team's league clash at Goodison Park, with supporters online believing Hojlund will benefit from the England left-back coming back to the fold.

One X user wrote: "As soon as shaw is back him and Hojlund are feasting."

A second tweeted: "I expect Hojlund’s goals to increase with a fit and in-form Shaw."

A third added: "Shaw back, Hojlund about to start eating!"

A fourth said: "I’m expecting a Shaw cross to Hojlund goal this weekend."

Another commented: "The missing piece, the best left-back in the world, Hojlund's true catalyst: Luke Shaw."

Despite Hojlund firing blank in the league, Erik ten Hag isn't worried and insists the 20-year-old will come good.

"If you score in the Champions League five times, you will score also in the Premier League, it's just a matter of time," the Dutchman said.

"As long as we, as a team, are creating the chances, and as long as he is convinced, I believe he will start scoring goals."
