Manchester United are close to completing their fifth major signing of the summer, with a deal thought to be 'imminent' following weeks of speculation.

As predicted, the Reds have been active in recent weeks. Joshua Zirkzee was the first through the door after a £34 million deal was struck with Serie A outfit Bologna.

Leny Yoro soon joined in a deal worth up to £58.9 million and ahead of their Premier League opener against Fulham, defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui joined from Bayern Munich.

United are also intent on bringing a No.6 to Old Trafford before the window shuts and Manuel Ugarte appears to be the preferred option.

In fact, after the two clubs initially disagreed on Ugarte's valuation, it appears a deal is now imminent, according to a report from the Manchester Evening News.

A deal is likely to be a season-long loan move with an obligation to buy.

RMC Sport, meanwhile, suggest PSG wants €60 million for the Uruguay international, who made 4.6 tackles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1 last season.

Away from the deal for Ugarte and United are reportedly open to offers for Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, with Al Nassr considering paying as much as €100 million (£85 million) to secure the Brazilian's signature.

That being said, Erik ten Hag was full of praise for the Brazilian midfielder after his performance against Fulham last week.

“In that midfield department unit he was very important in and out of possession, organising with smart solutions," he said. "This is the Casemiro we all enjoy.”

Casemiro recently opened up about his time at United, and claimed that he felt as good as ever.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I feel very well, very well. I feel healthy, with energy and the same mentality I always had.

"I'm well, I'm happy, living every day I get to play here. As I usually say, Manchester United gave me what I wanted.

"This joy of being able to enjoy the game, enjoy the Premier League. So, I'm happy to be here at Manchester United and enjoying the game."
