Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo spotted in tense moment during Man Utd's defeat to Fulham

Fans have spotted a tense moment between Man United pair Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo.

Manchester United pair Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo were spotted having a tense moment during the 2-1 defeat to Fulham.

United's five-game winning run came to an end at Old Trafford after Fulham's 97th minute from Alex Iwobi.

Calvin Bassey had put the Cottagers 1-0 up in the 65th minute before Harry Maguire levelled matters with one minute of the 90 remaining.

But Iwobi popped up in the dying embers, producing a clinical finish after being picked up by Adama Traore.

United's unbeaten run in 2024 has come to an end and there was a very interesting exchange between Rashford and Mainoo.

Rashford was seen in conversation with the 18-year-old wonderkid, offering what appeared to be some advice.

Mainoo wasn't massively responsive but could be seen with his arms out gesturing.

The discussion happened during a break in play and naturally caused plenty of reaction online.

Rashford took a lot of criticism, with some struggling to understand the talk he gave to his fellow academy graduate.

One fan wrote: "Needs to worry about himself not Mainoo."

A second said: "Lol thing is it looks like Rashford is telling Mainoo how to play."

A third added: "Too many telling the main man Mainoo what to do, leave him alone."

A fourth commented: 'Rashford, do your own job, don't mind berating anyone else."

A fifth fumed: "What advice could Rashford possibly give him."

Mainoo was replaced by Amad Diallo in the 80th minute in a decision that riled up United fans.

Meanwhile, manager Erik ten Hag was branded "deluded" for his post-match comments where he praised the "personality" and "character" of his team despite the loss.

The Dutchman said: "The team showed big character to fight back, we deserved the equaliser and went for the win - we showed big personality and character”.

“You have to see the bigger picture. The bigger picture looks very good."

United travel to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Wednesday, before taking on Manchester City in Sunday's derby clash.
