Manchester United are planning to sign five free agents this summer, according to stunning reports.

Ruben Amorim strengthened his squad during the January transfer window, signing Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven.

Dorgu joined Man United from Lecce in a transfer worth £30 million while Heaven arrived from Arsenal.

Amorim is set to bolster his squad during the summer, too, when the transfer window reopens.

And, according to a Spanish outlet Fichajes, Man United have five free agents in sight that would help Amorim build a stellar squad.

Per the report, Man United are looking to reinforce their squad without major expenditures as they have set their sights on Jonathan David, Leroy Sane, Jonathan Tah, Angel Gomes and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The five players are all out of contract in the summer as the Man United board 'study the best strategy' to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

David, 25, has enjoyed a prolific spell in France, racking up a series of impressive goal returns for Lille.

The Canadian forward has scored 104 goals for Lille and has 20 goals across all competitions to his name this campaign.

He's not the only forward on Man United's reported transfer wish-list as Calvert-Lewin is also being eyed ahead of a potential swoop.

Calvert-Lewin, 27, has struggled for consistency at Everton but registered 16 league goals in the 2020/21 campaign.

Leroy Sane, who has played in the Premier League with Manchester City, is another name on Man United's radar.

Sane, 29, has played over 200 games for Bayern Munich since returning to Germany.

Gomes has been linked with a return to Old Trafford, having graduated from the club's famed youth academy.

The 24-year-old barely featured for Man United but has made a name for himself with Lille.

Bundesliga-winning defender Tah rounds off the free agents list as he would provide a perfect foil for Amorim's system, having played in a back three at Bayer Leverkusen.

Tah, 28, was heavily linked with a move to Bayern last summer before staying put at Leverkusen.

Man United exploring free agents could be a strategy the club use to rebuild the team without compromising its finances.
