Two Man Utd players set to change position as Erik ten Hag masterplan outlined ahead of Brighton clash

Two Man Utd players set to change position as Erik ten Hag masterplan outlined ahead of Brighton clash

Ten Hag has a change in mind.

Two Manchester United players are set for a change of position for the upcoming Premier League fixture against Brighton, it has been reported.

Manager Erik ten Hag has a number of selection issues ahead of the clash, with Antony set to be unavailable and Jadon Sancho's future at the club in doubt.

But he could welcome back the likes of Mason Mount and Lisandro Martinez, who have both been injured, while Rasmus Hojlund is in line to make his full debut after his £72 million summer move from Atalanta.

The clash also gives Ten Hag the opportunity to integrate Sofyan Amrabat into the starting XI, although the Moroccan has also been recovering from an injury suffered before his deadline day loan move to Old Trafford.

He is, however, expected to at least play some part in the fixture.

And his inclusion would likely lead to several position changes for other United stars, according to a new report.

According to The Telegraph, Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano felt Amrabat's positioning allowed other players to play higher up the pitch - something Ten Hag is hoping to replicate with the midfielder at United.

The club's midfield has been criticised at times this season for pushing too high up the pitch, leaving Casemiro alone to cut out danger from the opposition.

The two main culprits of this in the opening weekend win of the season against Wolves were Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes, who often attempted to join attacking moves while leaving United too exposed further down the pitch.

As a result, one or both players could be given more attacking responsibility to help United's attacks against Brighton, with Amrabat sitting further back in order to seek out the dangers that the Seagulls will no doubt possess at Old Trafford.
