Manchester United fans have been left concerned by one particular Erik ten Hag statistic ahead of their Premier League clash against Liverpool.

The Red Devils boss was awarded the Premier League Manager of the Month award for November after picking up a maximum of nine points from three games against Fulham, Luton and Everton, not conceding a single goal in the process.

A 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United soon followed in December, before United returned to winning ways against Chelsea on Wednesday, winning 2-1 at Old Trafford thanks to a brace from Scott McTominay.

United host Bayern Munich next in the Champions League, with Ten Hag needing a miracle to stand any chance of qualifying for the knockout rounds.

Following that, the Premier League club travel to Anfield for a highly anticipated clash against Liverpool.

However, fans have been left concerned after realising that the last time Ten Hag was given the Manager of the Month award, United went to Anfield and took a 7-0 drubbing from their local rivals.

Goals from Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino wrapped up the win, with United leaving the stadium with their tail between their legs.

the Red Devils haven't won at Anfield since 2016, when Wayne Rooney scored to steal all three points.

Supporters will be praying that history doesn't repeat itself this time round, with Ten Hag knowing that anything close to a 7-0 defeat could spell the end of his tenure at Old Trafford.
