Manchester United fans are officially done with Casemiro after he made a basic error leading to Arsenal's opener at Old Trafford.

United had started rather well against the Gunners, producing a decent enough response to the shambolic 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

After a horrendous showing which caused Jamie Carragher to tell him he was finished at the top level, Casemiro once again started at centre-back alongside Jonny Evans.

And he was at fault for the goal which put Arsenal in the lead. Leandro Trossard put the visitors 1-0 up in the 20th minute, finishing smarly from a Kai Havertz cross.

But Casemiro came up with a sequence straight out of Sunday League, ambling up the pitch with no rush whatsoever as Andre Onana cleared his lines.

His lack of urgency meant he playing Havertz onside when the ball dropped to him down the right.

It was a truly remarkable sight to see a five-time Champions League player commit such a poor mistake.

And though the Palace horror-show was bad, this appears to be the final straw for many United supporters when it comes to Casemiro.

One wrote: "Casemiro’s legs are gone, it’s genuinely time to move to Saudi or something."

Another commented: "Sunday League might even be a level too high for Casemiro nowadays."

A third added: "If Casemiro retires today I wouldn’t blame him."

A fourth fumed: "Wtaf is Casemiro doing? I have had enough of him already."

Casemiro, a £70 million signing from Real Madrid in 2022, still has at least two years on his contract.

His £350,000-a-week deal included the option to extend for an additional year.

But after a strong start to life at United and a Man of the Match performance in the Carabao Cup final, Casemiro is experiencing a decline of epic proportions and looks a shadow of his former self.

He was recently omitted from Brazil's Copa America squad after a series of poor performances.
