Fans surprised after seeing who January's cover star is on Man Utd's official 2024 calendar

Fans surprised after seeing who January's cover star is on Man Utd's official 2024 calendar

Fans couldn't believe it.

Manchester United fans have been left shocked after learning who is the January cover star in the club's official 2024 calendar.

United supporters will hope 2024 signals a new dawn for the club, with the proposed 25 per cent investment deal from Sir Jim Ratcliffe expected to be officially ratified in the early part of the year.

But the upcoming January transfer window looks set to be a quiet one, despite United losing five of their last eight games in all competitions.

Manager Erik ten Hag has struggled for options in both defence and attack, although it is anticipated that any January business will be loan deals.

They will hope to do some outgoing business, though, in order to rectify some of the problems from 2023 - and have already allowed Donny van de Beek to join Frankfurt on loan with an option to buy.

Another player that United will hope to move on is Jadon Sancho, who hasn't been named in the squad since September 5 after a public dispute with Ten Hag. The England winger has been training away from the first team after reportedly failing to apologise.

Given his bleak future at the club, therefore, United fans were shocked to turn to January in their 2024 calendars - and see a full page photo of Sancho there.

If Sancho does leave early on in the month, it would leave fans with a former player adorning their walls for the rest of it.

Reports have claimed that United have discussed terminating Sancho's contract, which would see them lose the entirety of the £85 million sum they paid to bring him in from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021.

The England international had been linked with moves to Dortmund, the Saudi Pro League and Juventus, and it remains to be seen whether or not he is still a United player by the end of January.
