Man Utd hit with unexpected Bryan Mbeumo transfer blow out of nowhere and it changes everything about deal

Manchester United could miss out on signing Bryan Mbeumo this summer.

Manchester United have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.

Man United have added to their forward line ahead of the new season following the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Having spent £62.5 million on Cunha, the Red Devils are now chasing Mbeumo, who has been the subject of two bids.

Man United opened with a £45 million offer, which was swiftly rejected by Brentford, who then turned down an improved bid from their Premier League counterparts.

An improved bid worth up to £62.5 million for Mbeumo was also knocked back.

It was £55 million up front plus £7.5 million in add-ons for the 25-year-old, whose 'real wage demands' emerged amid talks.

Whether Man United return with a third bid remains to be seen.

But their pursuit of Mbeumo has taken a stunning twist following the latest developments at Brentford.

According to Ben Jacobs, Tottenham, who appointed Thomas Frank as their new manager last month, are weighing up a move for Yoane Wissa.

Frank wants to bring Wissa with him to North London following his appointment.

The DR Congo international, 28, is said to be keen on a move.

Per the report, Brentford don't want to lose both Wissa and Mbeumo in the same window.

So, if Spurs strike a deal with Brentford before Man United, then Ruben Amorim could miss out on signing the Cameroonian international.

Wissa has been at Brentford since the summer of 2021 following his transfer from Lorient.

He has scored 49 goals in 149 games across all competitions.

As for Mbeumo, he joined Brentford in 2019 and helped his side win promotion to the Premier League. He has scored 70 goals in 242 matches for the club.

Wissa and Mbeumo have been a key part of Brentford's success over the years and have forged a terrific on-field relationship.

But it looks like they will be broken up this summer, with one of them expected to leave.
