As per The Sun, Smit, 19, has attracted interest from United, who are looking to revamp their midfield with the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo all facing uncertain futures.
It has been claimed that AZ Alkmaar will be looking to bring in around £52 million to part ways with Smit.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: "Kees Smit on the beers, dressed up as Shaun the Sheep, at the World Darts Chamionship. This is what an elite football talent looks like."
Another commented: "Sign him for this alone."
