Former Nice star outlined "exciting" Sir Jim Ratcliffe blueprint that could be repeated at Man United

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has become a minority owner of Manchester United

Former Nice star Aaron Ramsey has already outlined the exciting Sir Jim Ratcliffe blueprint that could be repeated at Manchester United.

On Sunday afternoon, it was confirmed that Ratcliffe and his INEOS team have completed a 25 per cent takeover of the Old Trafford club.

Ratcliffe and his INEOS team are set to take over the football operations at the Old Trafford club.

A statement from the club read: “Manchester United plc reaches agreement for Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Chairman of INEOS, to acquire up to a 25% shareholding in the Company.

“Manchester United plc (NYSE: MANU) announced today that it has entered into an agreement under which Chairman of INEOS, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, will acquire 25 per cent of Manchester United’s Class B shares and up to 25 per cent of Manchester United’s Class A shares and provide an additional $300 million intended to enable future investment into Old Trafford.”

Back in May, former Nice man Ramsey, who was signed by Ratcliffe at the start of the 22/23 season, spoke about why he was enticed to join the club - and what the partnership could bring to United if a takeover is completed.

Speaking to French outlet L'Equipe Ramsey revealed he canvassed a number of opinions before committing to the French club, but was convinced by what Ratcliffe and INEOS offered to him.

He explained: "I spoke to several players about the club, and I was seduced by the INEOS project. To me, everything was brilliant, from the vision of the club to the way they wanted to develop.

"I still wanted to play at a top level, to prove to myself that I could do it and this was the perfect place to show it. It was a great opportunity, and the project is very exciting.

"With the vision of INEOS, their experience in all sports, it's only a matter of time for Nice to fight to play in the Champions League. It's very exciting."
