Zinedine Zidane could hardly have asked for more. "Leny Yoro had a great game today," he said after France's 4-1 win over Belgium. "I am very happy for him. He did his role very well."
It was an evening to remember for Yoro, who was drafted in at the last minute after Ibrahima Konate was ruled out through injury. He didn't disappoint.
On what was his senior debut for the France national team, the Manchester United defender was one of Les Bleus' standout performers on the night as goals from Desire Doue, Rayan Cherki and Michael Olise (2) sealed the win.

Yoro, who won all nine of his duels against Belgium, also impressed with the ball at his feet. The 20-year-old made almost twice as many passes into the final third (18) as any other player in the game.
He also managed to complete 70 per cent of his long ball attempts, with a diagonal pass to Bradley Barcola being one of his standout moments.
Leny Yoro will improve under Zinedine Zidane - the training footage speaks for itself
Yoro consistently demonstrated his ability to remain composed under pressure, a quality Zidane appeared keen to develop during a recent training session in which he was seen closing down the young defender.
Moments later, Yoro sprayed a diagonal pass to his teammate, a sequence onlookers praised online.

Unsurprisingly, Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick is facing growing pressure to hand Yoro more first-team minutes following his performance on the international stage.
So far this season, the defender has made just one start for the club, when United were beaten by Brighton in the Carabao Cup. It does, however, sound like Carrick is ready to give Yoro more chances to prove himself.
"He's got a fantastic future ahead of him and a lot of potential, and he's learning, he's developing," Carrick said last month.
"Some players progress and find when they're 18, they're at that level where they can really perform. Some players, like Leny, showed he can perform. I've got no worries for Leny."
One fan wrote: "At this point we might need more international breaks for these players to actually develop," and a second commented: "Top, top coaching. This is what development looks like."
A third added: "Thank God for Zidane. I’ve been critical of Yoro's passing under pressure. I’m glad it’s something he’s actually focusing on."
Leny Yoro reacts to impressive France debut
Speaking in the aftermath of France's win over Belgium, Yoro opened up on his performance. "I don't think I could have asked for anything better," he told Canal Plus after the game.
"A home match against Belgium, with my family there. It was a really great game, too. Of course, we would have hoped for a clean sheet, but we got the win, so we're not going to complain. It was amazing."
