Jurgen Klopp's immediate reaction after being informed of Manchester United's latest defeat to Newcastle speaks volumes.

United were beaten convincingly at a sombre Old Trafford on Wednesday night as goals from Miguel Almiron, Lewis Hall and Joe Willock sealed their Carabao Cup fate

Despite winning the competition last season following a Wembley win against last night's opponents, a frustrated Erik ten Hag could only watch on as the away side dominated for large spells.

It was a result that became a real talking point inside the football world, with many reacting to what was a disastrous night for Manchester United and their supporters

And shortly after the final whistle, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp gave his telling response without actually saying a word. Check out his reaction below:

Liverpool booked their place in the next stage of the Carabao Cup with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Bournemouth, as goals from Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez set up a quarter-final clash with West Ham.

As mentioned previously, there was a huge reaction following United's latest defeat. Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson fears Erik ten Hag has lost the dressing following Wednesday's result.

"It was shocking," Merson said when asked about their performance. "It was poor. They were out of ideas again. It's constantly now been said over a number of years with Man Utd. You don't see an identity and you don't see what they're trying to do.

"When you watch other teams, you can see what they're trying to do but they got dominated in midfield by Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff and Joelinton."

Merson added: "For me, he [Ten Hag] is under serious pressure and they have got to have a meeting and see what they do. He has lost the players, you don't start getting beat the way they are getting beat.

"Everybody loses football matches but there are ways of losing and tonight, like last week, they were just completely beaten. It is not good at all. Everything was too easy for Newcastle."
