Football fans think Manchester United have trolled Liverpool with their latest social media post following the announcement that Jurgen Klopp will be leaving at the end of the season.

Klopp confirmed today that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the current campaign. In a shock to supporters, a video was posted on the club website with the German admitting that "he was running out of energy".

He has been manager of the club since 2015, and was under contract for another two seasons. The Reds reached the Carabao Cup final this week and are still competing for four trophies so will hope Klopp can leave successfully.

The footballing world has been reacting to the shock news and Liverpool's rivals Man Utd posted on social media soon after the announcement which fans think was aimed at their rivals.

The 'good morning' message could be a subtle dig at Klopp leaving with many fans quick to reply.

"The choice of words for this caption is very intentional and I'm here for it," said one fan. Another replied with "perfect timing" alongside a picture of Klopp.

Given Liverpool's dominance under Klopp, it's not a surprise than rival clubs are welcoming the news of his departure at the end of the season.

The 56-year-old has guided Liverpool to seven major trophies including a first ever Premier League title and a sixth Champions League crown.

He's regarded as one of the best managers in the club's history so it'll be a huge loss and a big challenge for whoever replaces him.

United will be hoping that Klopp leaving can help close the gap between them and Liverpool, but they still have problems of their own to sort out.

Question marks remain over the future of Erik ten Hag now that new owners have arrived at Old Trafford and United could soon be on the lookout for a new manager themselves.
