Manchester United fans believe they've been proven right with some Borussia Dortmund supporters already losing patience with Jadon Sancho.

Sancho returned to Champions League action on Tuesday as Borussia Dortmund drew 1-1 with PSV Eindhoven.

Dortmund took a first half lead in the first leg of the last-16 tie in the Netherlands, but the hosts drew level from the penalty spot shortly after half-time.

Sancho was withdrawn in the 68th minute, and it's fair to say he had a night to forget on his return to European club football's biggest stage.

The 23-year-old winger didn't register a goal or an assist, and failed to create a single chance or successfully complete a dribble.

To add insult to injury, Sancho completed just 71 per cent of his attempted passes, lost possession on 12 occasions and won just two of his seven duels.

Sancho returned to Dortmund - the club Man United signed him from in a £73 million deal in 2021 - on loan in January after he fell out with United boss Erik ten Hag.

In September Ten Hag publicly cited Sancho's application in training as the reason why he was left out of United's Premier League trip to Arsenal.

Sancho hit back ad claimed he was being treated an a scapegoat, and after he refused to apologise, he was frozen out of the first team squad.

United fans were split over who was to blame, but those who thought Sancho was in the wrong now feel vindicated following the attacker's poor performance.

"But I thought Ten Hag was the problem? Big flop!," one fan wrote on X, while another said: "Now everyone can see Ten Hag was not the problem."

It appears that patience with Sancho is already running thin among sections of Dortmund's support.

"]Marco] Reus and Sancho are total failures today. It's a shame, I was hoping for Champions League BVB but the situation just doesn't get any better," one fan of the Bundesliga club wrote on X.

"Sancho is actually rewarded from his last stint at BVB. He has shown absolutely nothing and you have a young talent who is capable of threatening a defense on the bench. [Edin] Terzic is loyal to the absolute worst players," another said.

One fans had had enough, saying: "Get Sancho outta here man."

Sancho has provided two assists in six outings for Dortmund since returning to the club.
