The reason for Coleen Rooney not wearing her engagement ring while on I'm A Celebrity Get me Out of Here has been explained by a professional jeweller.

Coleen, wife of Manchester United and England legend Wayne, is among a star-studded lineup for this year's ITV show and is said to be earning a reported £1.5 million for appearing.

The 38-year-old has been talking about her relationship with Wayne as well as the well-documented 2022 'Wagatha Christie' defamation trial she won against Jamie Vardy's wife and former contestant Rebekah, who hasn't been afraid of reacting to the goings on in the jungle.

With Coleen in the jungle Plymouth Argyle boss Rooney has been left with a list of instructions in regards to their four children, Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and Cass, five.

Coleen and Wayne have been married since 2008 but she has not been wearing her usual engagement ring while in the jungle.

Instead, according to Laura Taylor, a jeweller specialising in engagement and wedding rings at Lorel Diamonds, she has swapped it out for a £700 yellow gold wedding band in order to "come across as practical" but ensure she is "keeping her husband close to her heart".

“For the jungle, Coleen has opted for a simple yellow gold wedding band, estimated to be worth £700," Taylor commented.

"The band’s minimalist design shows that she is taking a practical approach to her time on the show, as it will allow her to really get stuck in with the challenges without worrying about her jewellery.

“It’s also a heartfelt nod to her husband, giving us a glimpse of her sentimental side and perhaps showing us that she needs to feel Wayne’s support to help her get through her time in the jungle.”

Coleen has also been spotted wearing a gold necklace with the name of her four children while down under.

The original engagement ring given to her by Wayne is said to be worth around £55,000 today - with her complete engagement ring collection is estimated to be worth just over £2.9 million in total.

The most expensive is believed to be a £1.6 million, 12-carat yellow radiant-cut diamond ring.
