‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me out of Here!’ is one of the most popular reality shows on British TV screens, and this year’s edition features several big names, including WAG Coleen Rooney and former boxer Barry McGuigan – but the pair are under strict rules.

Rooney, 38, and McGuigan, 63, are among the star-studded line-up in Australia.

The first episode was aired on ITV yesterday evening as the contestants got to meet each other in a lavish villa, but the fun didn’t last long.

Shortly after meeting up, the sickening challenges began with Strictly star Oti Mabuse, singer Tulisa Contostavlos, presenter Dean McCullough, Loose Women’s Jane Moore and McFly star Danny Jones all forced to drink a concoction of blended bull penis and fisheyes, with a garnish made from vomit fruit.

Rooney and McGuigan were introduced shortly after the stomach-turning challenge.

The Liverpool-born wife of ex-footballer Wayne Rooney will no doubt be one of the most closely watched members of the camp this year.

But she and Irishman McGuigan are under strict guidelines for the series.

The 38-year-old is reportedly the joint-highest paid contestant ever to appear on the show – alongside Nigel Farage – as she is set to pocket a tidy £1.5m, according to the Mirror.

As for McGuigan, he is set to receive a fee of between £150,000 to £200,000, as per the Independent.

But the pair must stay in the Jungle for at least 72 hours if they want to get paid, according to reports from the Metro.

Rooney, as well as her fellow stars, will be put through her paces across various challenges involving all sorts of creepy crawlies.

Ahead of the show, she insisted she is going on the show to change the public perception of her.

"I have been in the public eye for over 20 years now, and people take what they want from it," Rooney said ahead of the show.

"I do think people will get a better idea of what kind of person I am."
