Gary Lineker tears into 'unpleasant human being' Sir Jim Ratcliffe in rant that mentions JJ Gabriel situation

Gary Lineker has described Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe as an "unpleasant human being" who is "even worse" than the Glazers as the British billionaire continues to attract criticism.

Ratcliffe made headlines last week after criticising the UK government for its approach to immigration, welfare and taxation.

After describing the country as "on the slide", Manchester United’s Muslim supporters’ club called on Ratcliffe to resign, saying that the 73-year-old INEOS chemicals group chairman "must go" following his comments.

Amid the criticism, United struggled against an out-of-form Fulham side, with Matheus Cunha's deflected strike in the dying stages rescuing a far-from-convincing point for Michael Carrick's side.

Gary Lineker makes feelings clear on Sir Jim Ratcliffe in rant mentioning JJ Gabriel situation

Never one to hold back, former England striker Gary Lineker brought up Ratcliffe as he discussed United's struggles, both on and off the pitch.

Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Lineker said: "I look at Man United and I see problems coming down from the top.

"I must congratulate the Glazers on finding someone even worse than them that they can blame and getting him in there and getting all the stick: Jim Ratcliffe.

"I don’t think he’s a particularly pleasant human being and it’s a bit of a shambles of a football club the way it’s being run at the moment. So, well done to the Glazers on that one, deflecting everything away from them!"

Lineker went on to mention JJ Gabriel, the highly-rated 15-year-old who looks set to leave United after requesting that his registration be terminated amid interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.

As well as describing the club as "a bit of a mess", Lineker said: "You've got a ground that's falling apart, all sorts of complaints about various things. They're losing young teenagers, it looks like that (Gabriel leaving) is going to happen.

"The results, the inconsistency seems to be back. They have backed the manager many times and it’s not worked for them but there’s got to be something dripping down from the top," added the former Match of the Day host.

On Friday (September 18), the representatives of JJ Gabriel are said to have engaged in talks with Barcelona as they line up his next move.

So, why does the teenager want to leave? A report from the Daily Mail suggests the so-called 'decline of United since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson' is the driving force behind him wanting an exit.

A source close to the family explained that United are 'far away' from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, as well as domestic rivals Arsenal and Manchester City.

They also want him to 'learn from the best' to maximise his talents.
