Erik ten Hag 'certain to leave Man Utd this summer' as three-man shortlist to replace him emerges

Erik ten Hag 'certain to leave Man Utd this summer' as three-man shortlist to replace him emerges

A massive update on Erik ten Hag's future at Manchester United.

Reports suggest Manchester United have finally made a decision on the future of Erik ten Hag ahead of their FA Cup final against local rivals Manchester City.

United have endured their worst ever Premier League season under Ten Hag, finishing a record low of eighth with a points tally (60) just two higher than their lowest on record from the 21/22 season.

The league table means the only chance United have of securing European football next season is if they beat Pep Guardiola's side at Wembley to win the FA Cup.

Despite Ten Hag still having the chance of silverware, according to Italian source Di Marzio the decision to sack the Dutchman has already been made.

The report reads: "Manchester United is looking for the successor of Ten Hag, at the end of the season, United says goodbye to Ten Hag.

"But what is certain: they say goodbye to Ten Hag."

The report claims that Kieran McKenna, Mauricio Pochettino and Roberto De Zerbi are the leading candidates to replace him at Old Trafford.

There have been rumours of a change on the touchline at United ever since Sir Jim Ratcliffe took control of the club, with the British billionaire keen to build from the ground up with his new club.

According to Sky Bet, Pochettino is the favourite to take over from Ten Hag if he is to leave, with the Argentine only announcing he would be leaving his post at Chelsea on Tuesday.

"Thank you to the Chelsea ownership group and Sporting Directors for the opportunity to be part of this football club's history," Pochettino wrote to supporters.

"The Club is now well positioned to keep moving forward in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come."

United have also been linked to departing Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel, who has emphasised his love for the Premier League.
