Erik ten Hag was booed by portions of Old Trafford following their 3-2 win against Newcastle during end of season speech at full-time.

United earned all three points during their last home game of the season and they look to secure European football for next season.

Kobbie Mainoo opened the scoring with an excellently taken goal inside the box after he was played onside by Kieran Trippier.

Newcastle responded well and snatched an equaliser with Anthony Gordon converting from close range.

Amad Diallo then put the hosts back in front with an outstanding first time finish on his weak foot to score his first ever Premier League goal.

Substitute Rasmus Hojlund then grabbed United's third just two minutes after coming off the bench. Erik ten Hag's side managed to avoid a late scare from Lewis Hall to wrap up the game 3-2.

Following the full time whistle Ten Hag gathered his players in the centre of the Old Trafford turf and was handed a microphone as he began to address the United faithful.

The Dutchmen was greeted with both boos and cheers by the crowd, following their yoyo season that certainly hasn't been a step forward for the club while he stressed the importance of the fans support.

"I want to thank you all for the brilliant support during the season," he said.

"As you know it wasn't an easy season, but one thing remained constant and that was the backing of you for the team," he continued.

Ten Hag also stressed the importance of the FA Cup final at Wembley against Man City during the speech.

He added: "The season is not over yet. We go to Wembley and I promise you those players will give everything to bring the FA Cup to Old Trafford!"
