Fans are convinced they know where Enzo Maresca will end up following his shock dismissal at Chelsea.

Maresca has agreed to part ways with Chelsea, who confirmed his departure with a blunt statement on Thursday.

The decision to remove the Italian from his role at Stamford Bridge comes just days before they face Manchester City in a crunch Premier League fixture.

Man City vs. Chelsea was being billed as an audition for Maresca, who is reportedly in the running to replace Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.

But fans don't think his next job will be at Man City.

Manchester United supporters have flocked to social media, claiming Jason Wilcox will want Maresca at Old Trafford given their previous working relationship.

The 54-year-old was the academy director when Maresca coached Man City's Elite Development Squad.

Wilcox left his role at Man City to join Southampton before being appointed at Man United as their technical director in 2024.

Some Man United fans online believe Ruben Amorim's 'days are numbered' in the wake of the 45-year-old being out of a job.

They think Wilcox as well as CEO Omar Berrada will want to hire Maresca in the near future.

One X user wrote: "Amorim’s days are numbered. Wilcox and Berrada will want Maresca."

A second said: "Pressure on Amorim will ramp up now. Wilcox and Berrada both know Maresca. They'll be keeping an eye on the situation."

A third added: "Hurry up and do it then Wilcox. Seeing as you and Omar only want staff that you know over here. Don’t even rate Maresca like that but I’d take ANYONE over Amorim."

Another commented: "Jason Wilcox will definitely want to appoint Maresca if INEOS sack Amorim in the summer."

Amorim has been at the helm since November 2024 but has failed to impress, having guided Man United to 15th in the Premier League last season.

And he was unable to beat Tottenham in the Europa League final, meaning they missed out on Champions League qualification.

Man United are faring better in the league this season but are still way off the pace of their rivals and were held at home to Wolves in their last outing.
