Casemiro is eyeing a stunning move away from Manchester United in a transfer that would go against Michael Carrick.

Casemiro is set to leave Man United at the end of the season when his existing deal expires.

Last month, the Red Devils announced he will leave as the club are not triggering a one-year option they have on his contract worth more than £300,000 per week.

Casemiro has enjoyed a resurrection at Old Trafford, having struggled last season.

He has been excellent this season and has shone under Carrick since he replaced Ruben Amorim last month.

On the star player's future, Carrick backed him to play at the highest level amid reports of a move away from Europe.

"I'm sure he can, he's playing at as high a level as he's played at for some time at the moment, and it's great to see in so many ways," he said.

"The experience, technical ability, game comprehension, just composure in certain moments, he's in a really good place. I've got to say, Cas has been fantastic since I arrived, both on and off the pitch."

Carrick added: "Experience is a great thing if you utilise it correctly, and again, I think over time being a senior player here is almost the responsibility of setting an example, aiding the younger players, supporting the rest of the lads, and sharing your experiences in a positive manner. He's been top-notch since I came, in so many ways, and he's been a pleasure to work with."

But it appears Casemiro will go against Carrick's wishes despite his encouraging comments.

That's because The Telegraph claim the Brazilian midfielder will have Major League Soccer clubs in America as an option next season.

The United States has emerged as a potential destination, with the lifestyle of MLS football a 'huge draw for Casemiro'.

Per the report, the 33-year-old is open to a move Stateside, having recently gone on holiday to Miami.

The MLS controls the salary of players across their teams, but designated players are not included in the salary cap.

David Beckham famously joined LA Galaxy during his career, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic also making the move to California towards the end of his own career.

And, of course, Lionel Messi ventured to Inter Miami, with Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets following him to the Florida-based side.

Other than a short spell in Brazil with Sao Paulo, Casemiro has plied his whole career in Europe, with the likes of Real Madrid, Porto and Man United.

But a move to North America could be on the cards when he becomes a free agent at the end of the season.
