One key player was missing from Manchester United's post-match celebrations following their FA Cup win at Wembley.

The Red Devils overcame rivals Manchester City to lift the cup for the 13th time in their history amid mounting speculation over the future of many at the club.

Rumours of Erik ten Hag's imminent sacking overshadowed the pre-match build-up up with the Dutch manager insisting he doesn't know if he will still be at the club next season.

There have also been rumours of player exits with many big-money stars having underperformed throughout the season.

Goals from teenagers Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo secured United's win proving once again that you don't need to spend millions for success.

Once the dust settles on a dramatic day at Wembley there will be a lot of questions.

The future of midfielder Casemiro is one of those after he made a quick getaway from United's post-match celebrations.

As per The Mail, after withdrawing from the squad late on through injury, he was pictured jetting off on holiday with his family after a difficult season that has seen him face a lot of criticism.

One of his most notable critics has been Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher who labelled the Brazilian's performance against Crystal Palace 'embarrassing' and called for Ten Hag to bring him off.

He was forced to deputise at centre back in the game due to a string of injuries United were dealing with the team ultimately conceding four goals as a result.

United paid Real Madrid £70 million back in 2022 for the then 30-year-old and whilst he has a very good first season he's been miles off it this campaign.

If the club are to really move into a new era then they need to offload him and reinvest his wages elsewhere.

His absence from the team at Wembley and quick getaway could mean we've already seen him play his final game in a United shirt.
