A worrying video outside Old Trafford ahead of Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest has been shared amid concerns of the game being called off due to Storm Darragh.

On Saturday, after the Met Office issued a red weather warning and predicted that winds of up to 90mph would cause chaos in the United Kingdom, the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool was called off.

The decision for the lunchtime kick-off to be postponed was made "due to the risk to safety in the local area", while further games in the EFL have also been abandoned.

Notts County announced their clash with Colchester United could not go ahead after panels in the Kop scoreboard at Meadow Lane came loose.

United are slated to host Forest in the Saturday evening kick-off but concerns have been raised about whether it is safe for supporters to attend the fixture.

The players arrived at their home ground earlier on, with fans gathering outside in the hope of getting autographs. Nathan Salt of the Daily Mail shared a video of summer signing Leny Yoro signing for fans but the main takeaway was the battering winds which could be heard hours before the two sides are slated to take the pitch.

As it stands, United say the visit of Forest is still expected to go ahead but they will be working with authorities through and update fans accordingly if a cancellation happens.

"Today's Premier League fixture at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest is scheduled to go ahead as planned," a club statement read, as reported by the Daily Mail's Chris Wheeler.

"The club will continue to consult the relevant authorities throughout the day and will update supporters immediately if anything changes."

Storm Darragh has already caused major disruptions in the sporting calendar. Championship games between Cardiff City and Watford and Plymouth Argyle and Oxford United were called off on Friday, with all football and rugby postponed in Wales and racing at Aintree also having to be called off.

The violent winds have resulted in cars and houses being crushed by trees, roads flooded, as well as thousands of people going without power.
