Pep Guardiola was left raging at Rodri's red card in Manchester City's win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Man City made it six Premier League wins in six matches as they beat Forest 2-0 on Saturday, with Phil Foden and Erling Haaland getting on the score-sheet.

But Rodri's dismissal just moments after the break marred the Blues' victory.

He raised his hands and pushed Morgan Gibbs-White following an altercation by the corner flag in the second-half.

The Spaniard was shown a straight red card by match referee Anthony Taylor. The incident was reviewed by VAR, but the decision was upheld.

As a result, he will miss his side's crunch league showdown against Arsenal at the Emirates on October 8.

And speaking after the victory over Forest, Guardiola admitted he was angry with his midfielder and revealed the player apologised for his actions. Check it out below:

"Hopefully, Rodri will learn," said the Man City boss. "Rodri has to control himself and his emotions. That is what he has to do.

"I can get a yellow card, Rodri cannot get a yellow card because they are inside the pitch.

"I said at half-time, 'Be careful, guys. Be careful.' Unfortunately, we could not do it. Rodri could not do it."

Asked if Rodri had let him down, he replied: "Yeah. I don't like to play with 10 because it is our fault."

Guardiola was also asked about his praise of Rodri last Tuesday following his team's Champions League victory.

He called the 27-year-old the best midfielder in the world.

On those comments, he said: "Today he [Rodri] is not the best midfielder in the world."

Rodri will miss Man City's EFL Cup tie at Newcastle United next Wednesday as well as league fixtures against Wolves and Arsenal.
