Fans spot key moment during Man City’s Club World Cup celebrations amid Rodri injury fears

Manchester City have won the FIFA Club World Cup

Manchester City fans have spotted a big clue during the club’s FIFA Club World Cup celebrations amid fears that Rodri could be injured.

On Friday evening, City became champions of the world after beating Brazilian side Fluminense 4-0 at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Julian Alvarez opened the scoring inside the first minute before City went two up after an own goal by Nino in the 27th minute.

In the second half, Phil Foden made it 3-0 before Alvarez scored his second goal of the match to make it 4-0 to the reigning champions of Europe.

However, there were fears over Rodri after he was on the end of a strong tackle from Flueminense midfielder Alexsander.

Despite the fears of a potential injury, it was spotted during the trophy presentation that Rodri was moving fine.

The Spanish midfielder was seen bouncing up and down on the stage as City lifted the Club World Cup trophy aloft.

City fans will be hoping the injury to Rodri is not serious as they have struggled without him in the side this season.

Guardiola’s team’s three defeats in the Premier League this campaign came when Rodri was unavailable.

Speaking after City’s triumph in the tournament, Phil Foden said: “ It was an unbelievable match. We showed not only quality, but heart and determination.

“We're not used to the heat so it was difficult. I'm delighted with the outcome. I'm over the moon. This is so important for us. It’s the first time we’ve won it. I'm delighted. It is massive for the club.”

He added: “Fair play to them, the way they play, I love the way they play with short passes.

“They’re a great side. they didn't make it easy today for us.”

City will be back in Premier League action next week when they take on Everton.
