Football fans have been left in disbelief after seeing who popped in Madonna's new 13 minute music video.

The pop legend's fifteen studio album Confessions II is released on 3 July and is a follow up to her 2005 project ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’.

Two singles from the album have hit the charts and the Material Girl singer has also put out 'Confessions II – The Film' - which premiered at Tribeca Festival in New York on Friday 5 June.

On Monday night, the film premiered in YouTube on Monday night and has racked up more than one million views.

The video incorporates six different singles and a slew of incredible cameos - including Sabrina Carpenter, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kate Moss and Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon.

However, there was also a major surprise for football fans as Chelsea pair Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro both popped up in a bizarre bathroom scene.

With the unreleased track Danceteria playing, a toilet rave takes place and both Palmer and Pedro are seen using the urinals.

The duo, who were both surprisingly omitted from their respective World Cup squads, have a shared puzzling look on their faces as Madonna brushes her hand across their backsides while they use the loo.

Many may well have thought that the Chelsea double act's presence was courtesy of AI upon first viewing but they are indeed in the cut around six minutes into the above clip.

Their involvement left those on social media stunned and questioning how on earth this random link up came to be.

One user on X wrote: "Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro missed on the World Cup and they’re home shooting a music video with Madonna bruh."

A second commented: "Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer appear in Madonna's new music video. Where does this connection come from???"

A third added: "Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer being in this MV is so funny."

A fourth user asked: "0:06 IS THAT WHO I THINK IT IS?"

Madonna features football stars in music video ahead of World Cup half-time show

Beyond her music being played in stadiums and adapted by some sections of fans, Madonna's connection with football isn't an obvious one.

However, the 67-year-old has been confirmed as a headliner for the first ever World Cup final half-time show on July 19.

Curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, the Super Bowl-style concert at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey will also include performances from Shakira and BTS.
