Liverpool fans have urged Jurgen Klopp to sign a Manchester United player for the first time since 1964.

The two Premier League rivals aren't known for doing business together, with forward Phil Chisnall the last player to make the controversial swap from United to Liverpool some 59 years ago.

However, Liverpool supporters reckon it could be time to reacquaint themselves with the Old Trafford club in order to sign out-of-favour winger Jadon Sancho.

Earlier this month, Sancho hit out at manager Erik ten Hag for his comments about the 23-year-old's below par performance during training, after he was left out of United's matchday squad to face Arsenal.

“Please don't believe everything you read," Sancho said in a statement on social media, which has since been deleted.

"I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week."

The Red Devils have now confirmed that the Englishman is training independently from the rest of the squad, with a lack of certainty around his future at the club.

Liverpool fans, meanwhile, have advised Klopp to take advantage of the situation and sign Sancho on the cheap.

One fan took to Twitter to ask fellow supporters if they would take a gamble on the player if he was available for £30 million, and many jumped at the idea.

"Yes, quality player and a change of environment might just be what he needs," wrote one fan.

Another added: "1 million percent yes," while a third chimed in: "Absolutely, no question."

"100% yes, he‘s [Klopp] the only who can bring him back to his best performances. He’s very versatile and would be a brilliant option under Klopp," another reply read.

"If we cash in on Salah next summer then definitely it's worth trying as he'll slot in directly on the right wing position," a fifth remarked.

Another wrote: "I was thinking about that because as young and talented as he is he could be a massive addition - especially if Salah leaves. I'm not saying he is a Salah replacement but he is good enough especially if he wants to work and improve under Klopp.

However, not everyone was quite so keen on the idea, with one fan writing: "I will never accept a united player."

Do you think Liverpool should try and sign Sancho? Let us know in the comments.
