Liverpool fans are fuming at Andreas Pereira's reaction to Virgil van Dijk's challenge and have also taken aim match referee David Coote.

Fulham took the lead through Willian after Van Dijk made an error in the build-up.

Shortly after his misplaced header, the Liverpool captain received a yellow card for fouling Pereira.

Coote booked the star defender as Liverpool fans online slammed the official and the former Manchester United man for his reaction.

One X user wrote: "Disgraceful behaviour by Fulham’s Andreas Pereira to roll around that much and stay down so ling is embarrassing - he was trying to get Virgil Van Dijk sent off."

A second tweeted: "Andreas Pereira, the absolute f**king state of that. Embarrassing."

A third added: "Embarrassing from Pereira to get Van Dijk booked. Coote fell for it."

A fourth fumed: "It's bad enough that Coote called a foul on van Dijk for that. It's even worse that he thought there was a yellow in it."

A fifth said: "Not even a foul by Van Dijk let alone a yellow. Well, it is David Coote who's absolutely useless."

Another commented: "Pereira should have an automatic ban for that. The cameras are there to show up divers and play actors. Get him banned for a game and it will soon stop. He's not even holding the right part of his head when VVD Palmer him off. Embarrassment."
